“I have been feeding my 4 dogs a premixed dog food which is dehydrated and I add the meat. They LOVE it. It does, however, have garlic in it. I thought garlic was OK for dogs. What's the truth on this? KMS” — karenswift0326, Jun 27 2008

“TexasRose1, I did some research on this online, and garlic is toxic to dogs in larger amounts. No one seems to know exactly what that amount is however, and some dogs may be more vulnerable than others. Many store-bought and homemade treats have small amounts of garlic that many dogs tolerate just fine. But you wouldn't want to feed your dog a lot of them.
