Science-fiction films have some of the most dedicated fanbases anywhere. For instance, it’s been 35 years since Star Wars originally hit theaters in 1977, but re-releases the films are still a big box-office draw (including the current 3D incarnations). Those franchises are also rife with character names that are perfect for dog or cat. What better name to give a long-haired dog than “Chewie,” or a black cat than “Vader?”
