I've had my older cat for 6 years and the other for about three years. Recently I got a six month old terrier. I've followed some of what is said in the article. The contents would work really well for the 3 year old cat but for the 6 year old it will not at all! She will not go any where near the pootch even if it's through a closed door. I know the pup won't hurt the cats if they would just stay still or even come up to him with no fear. But the older cat does not know that. The 3 year old tests the put all the time. Sits at the door when the pup is in the balcony and has her fun. She even Sits on the floor at a safe distance when the pup is restrained, teasing him with her presence. But the older cat, Saphie, won't come near. Luster (the pup) has been 'accosted' by my sister's cat and he was very humble! That cat if from an other household. The cat went straight up to Luster and rubbed himself all over him. And Luster just whined and turned away! So I know it can work. I will need some more help with the older Cat Saphie. :(
