Any shots? Current
Microchipped? Yes
Get along with cats? No
Get along with other dogs? Yes, but very dog aggressive when on a leash
Get along with kids? Yes
Has this dog been around children under age 3? Not since he has been with us.
If yes, how do you feel he/she reacted? He does not like being cornered or having kids “get in his face.”
Get along with all people? Yes
Weight now? 17lbs
Weight full grown? Between 15-20lb
Walks on Leash? Yes, but he pulls so we have a harness that he wears
Housebroken? Occasionally? He needs to be let out frequently and will poop in the house. Two or three accidents a week. He will need someone who can continue to work with him in this area. Potty pads or crating while gone would be a good method until he gets the concept completely.
Personality? Very sweet and loving, very devoted to one person. He has attitude and a bit of a swagger. He bounces when he walks.
List good traits Bosley is smart and incredibly cute. Gets along very well with our other dog. They play a lot together.
Any Health Issues? None known. He does require regular grooming.
Any bad habits? Chews paper, pencils, pens, plastic (Legos), zippers and he is very food driven. If there is food left in a lunch bag in a backpack, he will find it. He comes when called in the house, but does not respond to “Come” when he is outside in the backyard. If there is an open door, he bolts and runs. If you chase him he thinks it’s a game. He chases cars (when he has bolted out a door).
Trained to what commands? Sit, stay, down. Release word is “off you go.” He completed basic obedience training.
Like Doggy Parks? Never been to one (afraid to let him off leash).
Was this dog abused and how? No
Has this dog ever bitten anyone? No
Any dog aggression problems? When walking on a leash he lunges at other dogs and barks.
Any anxiety separation problems? He will not stay in the crate overnight, he has to sleep in our bedroom (on the bed)
Does this dog need a fenced in yard? YES
Who would be the best kind of owner for this particular dog? An experienced dog owner with the time to commit to the type of training Bosley needs. Definitely no cats and it might be best if he is an only dog. No kids under 8. Someone who is home all day would be ideal.
Is this dog crate trained? He is in a crate during the day. We put him in the crate when we leave at 7:30am. I come home from work and take him for a walk on my lunch hour and then he is back in the crate until my son gets home at 2:45. He barks and whines if he is in the crate at night.
Where does he/she stay when left home alone? In the crate.
Where does he/she sleep? On our bed at night. He is allowed on all our furniture so training him to stay off furniture might be an issue.
Application and home visit required. Adoption fee is $350.
