ADOPTABLE DOG

DENA Philadelphia, PA

FROM THE SHELTER:

This is a courtesy posting for Philadelphia's Animal Care and Control Team [ACCT]. This animal is available for FOSTER CARE ONLY, however you may foster to adopt as well. Interested foster parents may meet these animals by appointment only at the ACCT shelter located at 111 W. Hunting Park Ave 19140 (Feltonville). If you want to set up a meeting, please contact phillyshelterdogs@gmail.com.

Dena, an ex-mommie, was brought to the shelter as an adult stray. One of the things you might notice first in her pictures is her funny speckled “Chow tongue” – she is a Shepherd-Chow mix! When she first arrived at the shelter, Dena was understandably seemed scared and standoffish. However, you can see now what a gentle and easygoing nature she actually; calm and contented. Dena loves to come over to you for some quiet affection, and is a pleasure to be with. She’s also very good on the leash, and an easy walker. Dena would make such a wonderful and devoted pet, with so many years ahead of love to give. Owing it seems to her initial reaction to shelter life, Dena was behaviorally evaluated as available for foster and rescue only at this time. She is hesitant with meeting people initially and a little stiff with body handling; however, warms up and seems to enjoy affection. Please help give Dena an opportunity for a new, full time home.

ACCT is located at 111 W. Hunting Park Avenue in Philadelphia. Appointments are available 10am-6pm, 7 days a week.

To foster from ACCT you will need one form of identification which includes your name and current address. If you rent your home, landlord approval is required.

As these animals are adopted, ACCT is giving new pet parents a ShelterCare Gift insurance policy. The ShelterCare Gift provides accident and illness protection for 30 days starting on the date of your adoption.

The adoption fee is $75 for adult dogs, $125 for puppies under six months, $50 for cats over six months, and $75 for kittens. We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and debit cards. (Sorry, but checks are not accepted.)
