FROM THE SHELTER:

Sydney is new to rescue on 10-7-09 from a central Ohio shelter.

Sydney is being fostered in Creston OH.

Sydney is around 4 years old and 42#. She is a bit reserved upon first meeting her, but she soon warms up to you. She wagged her docked tail at my children too. It is very obvious she was bred multiple times, and sad to know she was dumped when they no longer needed her. We will give her some time to settle in, then allow her to meet some of the fosters. Sydney will learn crate training, housebreaking, and general obedience while in rescue. Please allow us to evaluate her thru 10/21/09.

UPDATE 10/17/09: Sydney has been in rescue for over a week now. She is completely crate trained, housebroken, walks well on a leash, and knows 'sit'. Sydney is doing well with meeting new people and going new places, she goes to work with me daily. She has been slowly introduced to Richard and DeeDee. At first she wasn't sure she wanted to be around them, but has since decided they are fun to play with. Sometimes she gets defensive, a simple voice reminder makes her stop. Sydney was in a shelter for 6 months and it takes a while for the 'shelter shock' to wear off. We are impressed with her improvements in only 10 days! Sydney will do well in a home by herself or with a low-key, even tempered male. Syd has recently discovered toys and amuses herself, acting like a silly puppy. She was great at the vet for her suture removal and chip insert. Sydney will need an ACD experienced owner

If interested please fill out an adoption application as this is the first step to the adoption process. We also do a telephone interview, check references, and home visits. A contract and adoption fee applies. Our adoption fee is $200. All our foster dogs are altered, heartworm tested and kept on prevention, had age appropiate shots, fecal tests, are micro-chipped, and are kept on a premium food.
