DeeDee is new to rescue on 9/24/09 from a southern Ohio shelter.
DeeDee is being fostered in Creston, Ohio.
DeeDee was pulled from the shelter, only to end up in a vet clinic 4 hours later, testing positive for parvo. We want to thank her transporter and temproary foster Mom Kim, for catching her symptoms and immediately taking her to the clinic. Kim's quick action along with her vet Dr. Libby, agreeing to meet her after hours, have given DeeDee the best chance to live. DeeDee is around 10-12 weeks old and the shelter believed her to be deaf. We will post her status as we get updates.
UPDATE 9-29-09: DeeDee was released from the vet yesterday and is in foster care now. She is full of spunk, which is good to see, after how sick she was. Dr. Libby feels she is 9 weeks old and weighed in at 9.5#. Her vetting is set for 10/29. She is keeping a dry crate at night and eating very well. DeeDee has good focus on her person and is learning hand signals for 'sit', 'come', and 'good girl'. She is a very friendly, outgoing, fearless puppy, who will require an ACD experienced home. Deaf dog experience is a plus. With an approved application you are welcome to come meet her. A deposit will hold her until she is ready to go home.
UPDATE 11/01/09: DeeDee is now spayed, micro-chipped and weighed in at 16.5#. DeeDee is crate trained and nearly housebroken. She does very well in new situations. She enjoys going to work with me and meeting new people and their dogs. DeeDee enjoys her training sessions and walks. She will do anything for a treat. She is ready for her forever home!
If interested please fill out an adoption application as this is the first step to the adoption process. We also do a telephone interview, check references, and home visits. A contract and adoption fee applies. Our adoption fee is $200. All our foster dogs are altered, heartworm tested and kept on prevention, had age appropiate shots, fecal tests, are micro-chipped, and are kept on a premium food.
