FROM THE SHELTER:

UPDATE 10-21-09:  Angel was spayed yesterday and we are going to send her off to the prison program tomorrow!  She will be housebroken, crate and leash trained, and learn simple tricks!  She will be gone approximately 6-8 weeks.  Please e-mail angelsforanimals@gmail.com for an application.

UPDATE: Angel was tested for heartworm again on 9-3-09 and she is NEGATIVE!!!!!!  God is watching over her in so many ways!  We are now working on getting some weight on her and hope to get her spayed so she can be adopted in the future.

UPDATE: We retested Angel for heartworm on 7-25-09 and she still is testing positive, so she has to be kept on cage rest for another 30 days and will be re-tested. If she is still positive then, we may need to re-treat her :(

Angel is a female Basset Hound and is approximately 6 years old.  She is not currently up for adoption because she has heartworm.  Angel was kept outside all of her life...it's sad to think that this is the first time she has ever been inside.  She is a very sweet girl and loves attention, as you can see from the pictures below.  Angel is VERY thin for her breed, when she walks around, her ribs are showing and she has sores on her feet from being outside on concrete for years with nothing to lay on.  Angel has received her treatment for the heartworm and is now on cage rest for a month.  She will be available for adoption when we know that everything will be OK for her.  If you would like to donate to her treatment (VERY expensive... :( ), spay, vaccines, or anything else, please click the link below to donate through PayPal, or mail a check/Money Order to Angels for Animals Rescue League, 211 S.
