10/5/09 Foster Mom Update

Ginger is doing very well.  She had surgery on 9/25 to remove a cyst on her back.  She also had her teeth cleaned and the vet says her teeth are in excellent shape.  She is healing from the surgery and will have her stitches removed this week.  Won't you consider a "plus size" girl like me?  If you can't adopt me, won't you consider donating to help cover my surgery?  Thanks and I will be waiting to hear from you.

Update: Ginger is doing very well, she no long has separation anxiety and is
left out of her crate for up to 8 hours at a time. She has great house
manners and no longer cries when left alone. She would thrive in a home with
at least one other dog or someone who is home most of the time, she needs
constant companionship to feel comfortable. She gets along with dogs big and
small. She is wary around some men, she will run in the opposite direction
from them. However, she does like some men and will ask to be held. If you
would like to meet Ginger please contact the Angels.

Hi, my name is Ginger Daphne and I am a 4 1/2 year old Yorkie girl who weighs apprx 13 lbs. I came to the Angels because I have become anxious and scared to be left alone. My previous owner could not handle my separation anxiety anymore and sent me to the Angels. I love to be around people and I generally prefer women. I let my foster dad pet me and hold me, but I really like women much more.  I have great house manners and my foster brothers are teaching me how to be a part of a pack. I love to play with toys and chase my foster brothers around the yard. I really like to hang out in my crate with the door open, but as soon as my foster parents leave I get so anxious. My foster mom is working really hard to help me get over my anxiety when I am left alone - I can even go outside by myself now! I love to go for walks and car rides.  I will keep everyone updated on my progress.

Foster Mom note: Ginger is a really sweet girl with excellent house manners. She suffers from moderate separation anxiety, she will cry when left alone. She does well with other dogs, big or small, and would do best in home with another dog to teach her the ropes. She bonds very quickly to women and takes awhile to warm up to men. If you would like to give Ginger a chance and are willing to help her with her separation anxiety, please fill out an application.

Ginger Daphne is being fostered in Kokomo, Indiana.  She walks well on a leash and does not require a fenced yard.  She would do best in a family where at least one family member can be home with her most of the time.
