Sugar is a 9 year old retired breeder chihuahua so she hasn't known a lot of love in her past. While she is supposed to be a purebred chihuahua, she is a bit big for a chih. She weighs 11 1/2 pounds. She is still shy but is sweet when she learns to trust you. She's crate trained and working on housebreaking. She's getting along fine with the dogs in her foster home, but she prefers to be by herself. She would probably do fine with another small dog to keep her company. She would be wonderful for a retired person or couple.

Sugar's vet bills are quite high as she had to have hernia surgery in addition to her regular vetting. Because she's such a special girl, we want her to have an extra special home. So the rescue is absorbing the majority of the cost of her vetting. If you'd like to make a donation to cover her vet care, we would be extremely grateful.

Please note that we do not place our dogs in homes on a first come first served basis. We do our best to find the perfect home for each of our babies.
