*FOSTERED IN PA * Mia is a 3 year old Catahoula mix that was adopted and later returned to the shelter, though not fault of her own. When her foster mom went to pick her up, the volunteers at the shelter couldn't understand why she was returned as she is joy to all who spend time with her. She's a sweetheart with impeccable house manners and she know the basic commands. She gets along well with other dogs and doesn't mind cats. Children love to play with her and she can't get enough of them, either. She even does well with the 4 month old infant in her foster home. Housebroken and cratetrained so all the hard work is done. Loves car rides and long walks. When she wants attention she'll put her head in your lap and look up at you with those gorgeous eyes of hers. She'll let you know when someone is outside and quiets down when you let her know everything is ok. Mia would love a forever home and would do well in just about any home that would give her the love she deserves. Catahoula Rescue Inc is an all volunteer 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered if old enough. They have been wormed and tested for heartworms if over 4 months of age when rescued. All dogs are on heartworm preventative. We require a minimum $150 adoption fee to help offset these costs.
If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first step is to complete the online adoption application available at our main website www.catahoularescue.com From the homepage, follow the link 'How to Adopt'. Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the fosterparent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family. If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue.
