Nov 4th UPDATE: We found a temp foster home for Miss Sophie with a woman and another dog. It is obvious she's never been in a house b4, the TV shocked and scared her (now she sits and watches it), different flooring un nerved her but is fine walking across various floors. She has a hard time relaxing at her age with little experience with anything other than an outdoor dog pen but is adjusting to each new situation. She asks and loves to be petted, go for walks and to sniff around. She is now housebroken but still likes to go to her crate when she feels insecure.
We're using homeopathics to help her anxiety and she is coming along very quickly. She's eating well and putting on weight. New pics soon.

PREVIOUSLY:

Sophie arrived and is really sweet. She's a little shy after being in the pound since july & then transported up here all day & 1/2 the night but she's settling in well and is food motivated.
She got herself a nice big crate with a nice big bed in front of the fireplace but needs a home of her own. She's gentle and quiet but has a slick little sense of humour and a twinkle in her eye. She isn't happy with all the dogs and chaos here, it's hard on her but a darn site better than the pound.
Sophie is a sad case, dumped at age 8. She was obviously used as a breeder and needs a nice retirement. She's apprx 8 yrs old but still has plenty of love & energy left for a family. She will be fine with kids (really young kids and chaos might be a little hard on her tho).
She is a sweet, happy dog, loves to go for walks but is past the high energy coonhounds are so well known for altho she still has it in her to run like the wind after a cat outdoors.
She has never been indoors it seems, the TV is facinating to her, she doesn't like different flooring, has never walked on carpet, she has mastered stairs.

She was spayed last week and her insides were pretty messed up but there are no signs of cancer in her body. There's no reason she shldn't live 4-6 more years giving lots of love to whomever needs her.
