Update (Dec. 2008):  Tammy Jean has recently had her second eye removed.  Despite being blind, she is doing incredibly well with getting around and is still a happy, sweet girl who loves to be with her people and her buddy "Kaylo".   She does require a daily pill to help control her bladder.  Other than this daily pill, she is a happy, healthy girl.

Tammy Jean is a very sweet, and loving 8 year old "petite" bloodhound.  In her life she certainly has had her fair share of hard knocks.  She is totally blind due to glaucoma and her owner had to give her up to rescue due to unforeseen personal circumstances, but Tammy Jean has bounced back once again. 

Anyone who adopts Tammy Jean will find her to be probably one of the most lovable dogs they have ever met.  She gives gentle kisses but doesn’t bombard you with them.  She likes to be petted but doesn’t bug constantly for attention.  She is quite comfortable on her bed and sometimes you wonder where she is because she’s so quiet.  She will, however, let you know when someone is at the door with that unmistakable hound “bay”. 

Tammy Jean would be most comfortable with another dog because she likes to follow her buddy.  Currently, in her foster home she and her buddy play and sleep together (although Tammy Jean isn’t always right on target with the play). 

Tammy Jean is now on one pill per day to control her bladder as she is an older spayed female.  No matter how you give the pill she never holds a grudge and is willing to give you a kiss after getting it.  She is quite easy to look after and gives quite a greeting when you get home. 

She has been around children and has never shown aggression.  Neither is she food aggressive.  In fact, her foster family seems to think that aggression just isn’t in her nature.  She does, however….snore.

It is a very fortunate family that adopts Tammy Jean.
