And now, a few words from me:
Wow! What a whirlwind my life has been lately. Somehow I found myself in a shelter in Kentucky. Someone said something about my days being numbered, but I don't know what that means...I haven't seen any numbers. I was moved to another shelter and they did some sort of operation so I wouldn't have babies and pulled out a couple of my baby teeth that I didn't need anymore. Next thing you know I'm in a car heading down the highway. I was passed from car to car for two whole days!! Finally someone had the decency to bring me to their home where I could have a good meal and a nice long sleep. A princess like me deserves a standard level of care and I seem to be getting it now! I like it here except some of the other dogs like to come near the nice lady who I live with and I don't want them to. She is mine and I need to guard her. She lets me sleep in her room and gives me great food. I don't like to share any of that with the other dogs either, but my foster mom keeps telling me I need to learn to share. I really don't want to though.
And now, a few words from my foster mom:
Brittany is a little sweetheart who loves to snuggle. She's only been here a few days now and has adopted me as her person. She does get snarky with the other dogs if they try to come near me or if I am petting them and will growl and nip at them to get away. I am teaching her that there is more than enough love to go around and that she doesn't need to worry. She does guard her toys and food from the other dogs as well, but is fine with people. The guarding may diminish in time as she learns that food, toys and love will always be available but the breed combo suggests that she may always have a bit of a princess complex! She loves to snuggle in your arms and will follow you all around the house. She also loves to be brushed and insists that her face be brushed after she eats to get any bits off. We are working on housetraining although still in the very early stages of learning. Brittany has been spayed, microchipped and had her first set of shots. She will be going for boosters in a few weeks (as of Nov. 8) I think Brittany would enjoy being an only dog where she could be spoiled and doted on.

Each pet is in a private home located somewhere in Southern Ontario. In order to adopt this pet, please visit our website www.loyalrescue.com and download an application. Complete it, and return it via email to loyalrescue@netscape.ca. We will then arrange for a volunteer to contact you to conduct the telephone interview. The same volunteer will also contact your veterinarian and personal references. If the interview and references are good, a home visit will be booked. Should you be the successful applicant for this pet, you are then welcome to come and meet the dog. You are not obligated to adopt, if the fit is not correct, however we must go through this process prior to meeting the dog.
