SHHH don't you dare tell her she is missing a leg. She doesn't know it and I doubt she would believe you. She was shot prior to being put in a shelter. A high kill shelter. We rescued her 11th hour and had her leg she was holding xrayed. We hoped it was a break but it was a shattered elbow and surgery was not recommended, amputation was. A weight bearing leg that could not be repaired with a good prognosis. She did so well the vet was astounded. We are astounded at this dog's temperament. . her wonderful attitude through everything under the sun. She is good with people and dogs, easy to have around. Absolutely wonderful. Anyone adopting her will find they have a pretty special special girl in their lives. She had a potential adopter but their lives changed so she is now up for adoption. Please consider this sweet little girl. We have not tested her on children and cats but she does love a doggie friend and we want to see her go where she can have a dog friend to play with.

Catahoula Rescue Inc is an all volunteer 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered if old enough. They have been wormed and tested for heartworms if over 4 months of age when rescued. All dogs are on heartworm preventative. We require a minimum $150 adoption fee to help offset these costs.

Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the fosterparent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family. If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue.
