Hi! Thanks for giving me some attention! I'd like you to know that I've already been spayed or neutered. At Animal Friends, dogs and cats also leave fully up-to-date on shots and microchipped. All I need now is to find someone who will love me.

What do you think of when you hear, “Goliath?” Maybe it’s large, like a Goliath tomato, also called the “King of Tomatoes” or a Goliath beetle, one of the largest insects on earth.

Maybe it’s the biblical story of the young David slaying the once invincible Goliath.

We think of our amiable pit bull.

Our Goliath is a young handsome boy with a playful attitude. Pit bull fans will love his exuberance and his willingness to learn tricks for treats. In fact, the behavior team at Animal Friends is recommending continued reward-based training. Obedience classes will not only help Goliath learn his best doggie manners, it will give him a chance to socialize with other four- and two-legged friends. And this sweet pooch loves to learn. Although Goliath is large and strong, he has learned to walk very nicely on a leash. He rarely pulls and he sits patiently to have his leash attached. Goliath is working very nicely on housebreaking and is just about fully potty trained.

In spite of Goliath’s terrier genes, he shows little prey drive. If you have a kitty at home, however, please ask an adoption counselor to cat test our big boy. Better yet, bring your feline to meet this handsome guy.

Goliath may appreciate a fenced in yard, and he will certainly benefit from daily exercise to work both his body and his brain. If you are a pit bull enthusiast ready to shape a playful adolescent into a faithful companion, Goliath may be your guy.
