Update 10/1/08 

Davey has come a very long way.  He has put some weight back on, his insulin is regulated and he is a very sweet little boy.  He gets around fantastic, love to cuddle and sleep with his foster mom or just hang out on the couch and 'watch' TV.

Meet Davey.  He is 6 years.  He is the result of a broken home.  His parents got divorced and neither one of them wanted him.  Davey is a diabetic and is blind.  He arrived in horrid shape.  Skin and bones, all matted but thin hair, crusty eyes, not friendly, slept a lot.  We got him to the vet right away and we are working on getting his insulin on track. 

Since he has been here, he has learned the layout of the entire house.  He can go up and down stairs and even go outside on his own.  He is quite needy tho and must know where his human is at all times.  He also insists on sleeping with his human however, he wakes up several times a night to go potty and he must be lifted out of bed.  He does cry if he needs something.  He requires insulin injections twice per day and special prescription food.

Chances are slim that Davey will ever be adopted.  Not many people out there want to deal with such a special needs dog.  Davey is the sweetest little boy.  If you are that special person that would welcome the challenge, please contact us.  If not, please consider donating to help with Davey’s care.

PLEASE NOTE - There are NO exceptions to filling out an application. Our dogs are in private foster homes, not a shelter facility. All of our rescue dogs are altered, up to date on vaccinations, flea-free and on heartworm prevention. We check references and do a home visit. Only an approved application may adopt one of our rescue dogs.
