BUSTER'S STORY:
Buster was rescued in April of this year when a good samaritan saved him from a nasty neighbor’s intent on taking him to the pound. In fact, he was being loaded into the car when she stopped him. At Nashville Animal Control a pitbull dog doesn't stand a chance. He's doomed. Buster got very lucky that day.
Buster, was obviously another dumped dog, and somewhere during his search for someone to love him, he got hurt. We don’t know how he got hurt, but his left his lower front leg was broken and grew back crooked. He walked with a limp and on the side of his paw which left the pad a raw and open wound. Veterinarians suggested all kinds of surgeries to repair the leg at the tune of up to $3000. The repairs would be extensive and recouperation long and difficult for Buster. All that without the guarantee that it would even work. We could not justify spending that kind of money for a 'maybe.'

So we opted to do nothing and let nature take it's course. Today, with the help of his obedience trainer, he has learned how to walk well on the leash and with doggie manners so as not to reinjure himself. His leg is strong and his spirits are stronger. He is a happy and playful boy. With proper care he will be fine and there should not be a need for surgery or amputation now and most likely never.

So, now Buster is ready to look for his forever home and a fosterhome in the interim. We are looking for a home with carpeted floors. He can do stairs if they are carpeted. Buster does not need a doggie companion as long has he has his person to love and dote on. Like all bully dogs he likes to be where his person is. However, he is good with dogs and would enjoy a calm doggie companion that doesn't have the need to puppy play and nip on his leg and foot. He will be able to enjoy gentle walks, but probably not hikes through rough terrain. He will be able to play in grassy areas that cushion his foot.

Buster is fully vetted and neutered, and he is professionally obedience trained. He is a perfect embassador for the breed. A happy, friendly, loving boy. He gets along well with other dogs and children and cats. Children should be 8 yrs old and up and have an understanding of animals and how to treat them. Buster will be fostered or adopted to an inside home only with outside priviledges. Fence preferred. Reference and vet check, as well as a home visit are required. His adoption fee of $200 and will be used to help other unfortunate dogs like Buster.
