This is Bandit ? not your average Brittany! As you maybe can tell from the picture, he?s not a full Britt. We believe him to be a Brittany/English Setter Mix. He certainly thinks he?s a Brittany, though! He loves playing with his Brittany foster-sister, and points all the birds, rabbits, and squirrels that he sees. His orange coloring is a little lighter than a Brit, but the ear shape is all Brit. His eyes are brown but the left one has a small corner of blue in it. He has a long, un-docked tail. He?s a very playful, smart, energetic dog that needs someone to help him burn off some energy (either through playing catch or long walks) and to reinforce the obedience commands that he?s just starting to learn.
He loves playing with toys, and even has a favorite teddy bear that he likes to sleep with. This dog doesn?t have a mean bone in his body. He loves his walks and settles down quickly into a nice pace, rides well in a car, is crate-trained and house-trained. A minimum 4? fence is required. With Bandit, you?ll get all the energy, love, and enthusiasm of a puppy, but don?t have to deal with the house-training or furniture-chewing stage! Bandit will be 2 in September. If you feel you can provide him a loving home then please fill out the on line adoption application.
As we get to know Bandit's personality we feel that he really needs to be in a home with kids and/or other dogs so he can express his playful personality. A commitment to walking him daily is also required.
Hi there! Bandit here - my foster mom thought I should add a few words of my own. What can I say - I'm a HAPPY BOY and I LOVE TO PLAY! I've got this long tail and I don't mind one bit if anyone pulls on it - that's a fun game! I'm having a lot of fun here, especially playing with my 16 yr old terrier foster-sister, but I'm really anxious to find my new forever home. I love going for walks and I don't pull like a lot of Brittanys do. Foster-mom says I really need an obedience class, whatever that is, but I love new adventures, so I'm sure I'd like that! I'm just a happy dog looking for a family to love!
History:
Bandit is a victim of the economy. His owner placed a frantic call to Brittany Rescue as he was being evicted from his home. The owner didn?t really want to give him up, but felt he had no other option. With less than 48 hrs to move the dog and no way to send any pictures, a kind-hearted state coordinator took the owner?s word that this was a Brittany. ABR took him in even though he isn?t pure Brit and neutered him and brought him up to date on all shots.
