Meet Nikki, or as I call her, 'Little Miss Muffit'. Nikki is a CLASSY senior. The only thing that gives her away as a senior is her fatty tumors and arthritis. But this 12 year old thinks she is about 6 and plays with her 3 year old foster sisters and brothers. She doesn't let age get in the way of her daily routine. Nikki is on the small side and weighs about 30-35 lbs. Nikki LOVES to go for walks and car rides. She may have arthritis, but she doesn't let it get in the way of what she loves. She get a supplement for her arthritis twice a day so it is very manageable. She is a power walker, but will slow down after a bit. I have had both knees replaced and she is a perfect walking buddy for me or for someone who can't keep up a fast pace for long periods of time.

Nikki talks. She lets you know when it is time to get up in the morning, when it is time to eat or time to give your attention! If you ignore her requests, she will take her frustration out on whatever is nearby. Now don't get me wrong, she is not destructive by any means and is left alone in the house without accidents. Oh and cats. Cats seem to annoy her. She was fine with our cat at first, but once she got comfortable with her new surroundings she lets our cat know who the boss is. So preferably a home without cats would be a good idea. You may ask why she is so closely shaved. When we went to pick her up, you could not even rub her back or behind her ears without coming upon some deep mats. Some were so close to the skin that her skin was irritated. So we took her to the groomer who gave her the spa treatment. She now has a better diet that will help promote healthy skin an coat.

A perfect home for her would be one that has another dog that likes to play, an owner who loves to go for walks and enjoys the finer qualities that a senior Brittany can offer. Nikki is up to date on her vaccines and is heart worm negative.

History:
Nikki (whose name is originally spelled Nickey) was adopted by her parents when she was around 6 years old. She was a rescued dog back then. Since that time, her owners have passed away. She was given to a family friend who lived on a farm. But they didn't want her either. We got the call, and when I picked her up, her hair was so long and matted, she actually had a 2nd set of ears as well as extremely long toenails.
