**GIFT FROM GOD**
An Akita owner found Bo roaming the street of Indianapolis. She sent us pictures and we offered to help. She could hold Bo for a few days while we arranged transportation and made sure someone wasnt looking for him. When we called to set up a time we were told the pup had been taken to the shelter. Our hearts sank. Some shelters do not rehome certain breeds; and if they did would he find a loving home with a knowledgeable owner, or would he end up back in the system after he was no longer a fuzzy puppy. We called the shelter early the next morning; they could not find him in their system. They searched by breed, group, finders name and cell #, nothing.
They didnt keep their word, they didnt bother to let us know, they just dropped him at the shelter. We couldnt help but think the worse, we said a silent prayer. But then this past Saturday our phone rang. A very nice volunteer from a shelter in Indianapolis was disappointed. Seems a young, gregarious Akita was past his due out day, she had been hoping, but no one adopted him and he was going to be euthanized. Please, isnt there something rescue can do to help him, he is such a nice boy!
..
Bo is just a pup, but he already knows much about life. Bo knows--
*That people who should know better, dont
*That a special lady named Julie is his Guardian Angel
*That rescue people dont have lives and thankfully are at home on Saturdays to answer the phone
*That on a moments notice Ken and Sallie left to pluck him from the shelter, then opened their hearts and home to foster him
*That you can never stop believing and a second chance at life is a very special gift
We havent known Bo for very long, but MARS knows-
*That hes a 9-10 month-old happy, playful boy who is very focused on people and likes to stick close by
*That hes gentle taking treats, loves getting pets, is learning to like his crate and walk nicely on a leasj
*That hes never going to stop believing and neither are we
*That hes going to be a great companion for a lucky family
There is much we will never know about Bo--who brought him into this world, why wasn't someone looking for him, why didnt his finder call us, why wasnt he in the shelter's system when we looked, why was this one pup so lucky. Bo will be neutered and vaccinated, and ready to start learning about more good things in life. If you would like to meet Bo and learn more about what Bo knows, please contact Deanna OBrien at marsakita@sbcglobal.net or 773-594-9302.
