12-5-08 Miss Winnie has a deposit to hold her until out of state adopters come to Michigan.

New to rescue in October is Miss Winnie. She seems to be a young girl about 9-10 months old. Winnie has LOTS of energy and has NO manners at the moment. She found out right away, that we don't put up with naughty behavior, and is really trying to change her ways. Winnie is afraid of the other dogs here, so she is learning how to be social. Winnie wants to jump up on us and wants to lunge at the cats while she is on the leash. She is learning what NO and Leave It are, and we are already seeing an improvement. She is getting some exercise and play time with Bandit, which will help get her attention to learn her lessons.

Update November 2008: Winnie is becoming a great girl, she is interacting in our pack with both males and females. She is listening better, and a verbal correction gets her attention, and she shows me she is sorry if she makes a mistake. Winnie is quiet in her crate, content to chew on a femur bone. She does not chew up her bedding, which is greatly appreciated. While she might be a bit rough around the edges, she is trying, and we are happy with her progress.

PLEASE NOTE: AuCaDo Rescue is not a public shelter. This dog is being fostered in a private home until adoption. Prospective adopters who have submitted an accepted application and completed a telephone interview are welcome to schedule an appointment to travel to meet the dog. If approved for adoption, a deposit will hold the dog until a meeting or transport is arranged. AuCaDo Rescue does welcome out of state adoptions. We require an approved application, phone interview, photos and willingness to help with transport. AuCaDo Rescue is now located in Michigan, Illinois and Ohio.
