Rocky was rescued from a desperate situation when his family suffered severe financial troubles because of health issues. The family had their electricity shut off and could barely afford food for themselves. The dogs were starving by the time OOTW was contacted to help. Rocky is starting to put on some much needed weight. He has also been neutered, is now up-to-date on his vaccinations including rabies and bordetello and has a microchip. He tested negative for heartworms and has been started on monthly preventative.

Rocky is very shy and is slowly learning to trust humans. He will need to go to a family who will be very patient and who understands his shyness and fears. He is a sweet boy and will be a very loyal companion once he gets past his nervousness. He loves to play with the other dogs who were rescued with him and gets along fine with cats. There are no children at his foster home but he would probably do fine with older children. Small children would probably scare him.

Rocky is a medium-sized dog and only weighs about 30 lbs. We think he is about 9-10 months old so he probably will not get any taller, just fill out more as he gets older. Rocky's mother is a yellow lab and his father was probably a shepherd, although he is smaller than both of these breeds.
