**UPDATE**(11/2/08)
Milly has fully recovered from her spay, and her hips are now perfect. All she needed was a quick massage and some adjusting and her hips popped right back in to place. We are so happy now and so is Milly. She is running, jumping, playing and enjoying life. Milly is now looking for her forever home where she can leave her past behind her and enjoy a life of love. We are still working on house breaking and it is coming along. Milly is being fostered in Lakewood Ohio and her adoption fee is $275.00.

Milly came to us from a puppy mill in southern Ohio. She is our sweet 6 year old Boston Terrier. Milly is a special dog, you see when she came to us on October 1st 2008, and we were able to evaluate her, we noticed her bad legs, but something else was wrong. Milly was suffering terribly so we rushed her to the vet. We were right, Milly was suffering from Pyometra. To find out more about Pyometra, please check out this link http://www.pets.ca/encyclopedia/pyometra.htm

Milly was kept at the vet's office for observation, and to get her stable. Milly was put on IVs to push fluids and then IV antibiotics. We took x-rays and what we saw was horrifying. Milly's internal organs were pushed all over the place because her uterus was so filled with infection. Her gums were pale and she was fading. We knew what had to be done.

Milly had her emergency spay on October 2nd and was able to be stabilized. We drew a full blood panel on her and we are awaiting the final results, but so far everything is looking better. We were able to bring Milly back to the rescue (my home) to have constant supervision.

Milly is still not out of the woods just yet. The next few days are still critical but she is receiving the best care possible. And being spoiled rotten. The vet told us today that if we did not get Milly when we did, and get her the care we did, she never would have made it thru the night (October 2nd). We are thankful to have saved her.

As you can see from the pictures, Milly's hips are dislocated. This is probably from an old injury that was never treated. She spent her years in a rabbit hutch having litter after litter. We were told today that it appears she had several c-sections in the past. As Milly gains strength from her recent spay and infection we will evaulate her hips. There is probably nothing that can be done, as she is walking now and lying down on her new bed.

As you can guess Milly's bills has taken a toll on our rescue. And while we have never asked for donations, we are hoping for some help. Even if it is just prayers for her recovery. We are an official 501c3 organization and your donations are tax deductible.

Thank you
