My name is Nana. I am so much on the timid side that after I was rescued, I didn't want to come out of my kennel. But I'm open to new ideas, and I've discovered something ... it's really GREAT to be outdoors, out of that tiny kennel! I went to visit a play area at the facility where I am staying and there were so many intriguing smells, I just couldn't believe the fun I was having. I'm a hound dog so you know I sniffed out every inch of that play area! And there were these big tires to play in (can you see them in the picture?) and lots of grass to roll in! And other dogs I could bark at. I've been cooped up for so long I just forgot what it was like to be outside and to have fun. I'm sure that I'll get this same feeling once I find my forever home ... I'll be overcome with joy at finally being at home with people who love me. I just can't wait !

Here's a few of my best qualities: I'm young, only around 1 year old as of October, 2008. Also, being a hound, I can sniff out anything, so if you ever lose anything just let me know. I keep my nose low to the ground. I'm told that I would be a wonderful companion if you'd just give me the chance -we can stop and smell the roses together.
