Sierra was rescued from a rural family who were going through serious financial hardships and could not afford dog food let alone necessary vet care for her. She is a little shy of strangers at first meetings but Sierra warms up quickly and loves attention. She has such a sweet and trusting disposition, even with all that she has been through. Sierra is still a pup, probably 9-10 months old. She loves to play with the other dogs and gets along great with all of them. Sierra is intrigued by the cats and just a quick reminder to leave the cats alone is all that is needed to settle her down. She is not around children at her foster home but she is sweet and loving and probably would do very well with older children.

Sierra has grown up in the country as an outside dog and there is not room at her foster home for her to be inside. She will need housetraining but she loves to please and is attentive so probably would learn quickly. She is a small to medium dog and only weighs about 30 lbs. Her mother is a yellow lab and we think her father may have been part Irish setter because she has the beautiful red coloring of an Irish setter.

Sierra has now had all of her vet care - spay, vaccinations, rabies, bordetello, microchip. She is heartworm negative and has been started on monthly heartworm treatment.
