Hiedi 10.2.08
Hiedi?s favorite past time is to look soulfully in to your eyes while you are petting her! She would like nothing more than to be with her humans every minute of each day, whether it is lying by your side watching TV or taking a long walk.
At 6 ½ years old, Hiedi has the spark and energy of a dog much younger. She is not content to be a couch potato! She is very inquisitive (and slightly bossy) of goings on around the house, both inside and outside. She loves to lay outside so she can survey ?her property? to make sure no one (dog or human) is doing anything she doesn?t ?ok?.
Hiedi is good with other dogs, however she is slightly herdy so does not do well with very dominant dogs. She watches the other dogs, but does not engage in play. She totally ignores our cat. Hiedi is wonderful with well behaved children, although with her sneak up and ?plant? kisses tactic she would not be good for children under age 5.
Hiedi is a very different dog than when she first came to us, she had two bad hips which were surgically corrected. She is a happy and bouncy girl now. Her nickname is the ?fun police? as she barks when the other dogs play in the house. She is an early morning gal, although she is influenced by the 6 other dogs that wake me up as soon as it is dawn! She would do best as an only dog, or in a calmer home.
She is a black and white, purebred (we have papers) border collie. She is housetrained and crate trained.
Hiedi sneaks up on your heart! She has a special quality which makes everyone adore her after spending even a few minutes with her.
All Hiedi?s vaccinations are up to date, she is spayed and was heartworm tested negative (and is on preventative). She has also been microchipped. She has had two hip surgeries (FHOs) and has recovered fabulously. She should have no other hip issues going forward.
Hiedi is being fostered in the southern IL/St. Louis region. To apply to adopt Hiedi, visit www.comebyebcrescue.petfinder.org For more information about Hiedi, contact Chris at comebyebcrescue@hotmail.com

Miss Hiedi is a new woman! She has now had surgery on each hip (FHOs), and is in the final stages of rehabilitation. She is mostly walking and running on all fours, and we will continue to build up her muscle in her hips through exercise. The most wonderful news is her hips will not cause her any issues in the future. Also, her eyes have been checked by a specialist, and she has no vision issues.
Hiedi is a very different dog than when she first came to us. We do not know if she led an unhappy life, or if she was in pain for many years but she is a happy and bouncy girl now. And pushy as well! Her nickname is the 'fun police' as she barks when the other dogs play in the house. She is an early morning gal, although she is influenced by the other dogs that wake me up as soon as it is dawn!
She is a black and white, purebred (we have papers) border collie. She is 6 years old, although you would never know it! She is housetrained, crate trained and great with most other dogs although she doesn't play with them. She has no reaction to our cat, even if he walks past her nose! She barks when she needs (or wants) to go outside. Actually, she barks a bit too much and we are working on it! On the plus side, she is very aware and will alert you if anyone is coming.
Hiedi's favorite activity is to be with her people! She is content to lie on her bed near you, or rest her head in your lap while adoringly looking in your face. But when she is ready to go, she will bark and not let you off the hook until you take her outside.
However, Hiedi also loves to be outside! She loves poking her nose around in things, sometimes in things she shouldn't!
Since Hiedi has had surgery and recovered, she has a lot more energy! She loves to walk, and is interested in everything that is going on. She would do best in a pretty active home, with lots of walks and a fenced yard where she can spend time observing what is going on

Hiedi is a very affectionate and loving girl. She is a black and white, purebred (we have papers) border collie. She is housetrained, crate trained and great with most other dogs. She has no reaction to our cat, even if he walks past her nose!
Hiedi's favorite activity is to be with her people! She is content to lie on her bed near you, or rest her head in your lap while adoringly looking in your face.
She would be a wonderful pet for a single person's best friend, or with a lower key family.
This mellow girl came in to rescue as her owner was moving, and couldn't take her with the family. At first when Hiedi came to us, she was pretty indifferent to people, and would not listen very well. Now she is a very happy girl, and interested in exploring everything!
Hiedi sneaks up on your heart! She has a special quality which makes everyone adore her after spending even a few minutes with her.
Hiedi has some health issues, although nothing terribly serious. Her hips are not in good condition, and she recently had surgery on her left hip. She will soon have surgery on her right one, and full recovery is expected. She supposedly has an issue with her eyes, although her vision appears to be fine. We will be taking her to an eye specialist soon.
All Hiedi's vaccinations are up to date, she is spayed and was heartworm tested negative (and is on preventative).
