These little lab mix puppies are the babies of a feral (wild) mother dog. They were caught and brought to us after hurricane Gustav by a person who saw the little family trying to make it alone in the aftermath of the storm. The mother was too wild to be caught. These puppies were probably born in mid July. They are very thin but are eating well and have had their first puppy shots and treated for worms. They are very afraid of people, which is not unusual since since they had little contact with humans and their mother undoubtably taught them to be wary. They are in urgent need of either adoptive or foster families to help them learn socialization skills. At their young age, they have an excellent chance of becoming great companions if they receive patient, gentle handling and lots of exposure to people. Are you up to a challenge that will more than pay you back in love? If you are not ready to adopt, could you foster one of these puppies in your home so it can learn the skills needed to be a family pet? For foster homes, you must meet the same requirements as for adoptions. We pay the vet expenses and you help a puppy have a chance at a happy future. And you just might become one of those people who flunk Fostering 101 and end up adopting!

Unless otherwise indicated in the specific information for this pet, he/she is already fixed, up to date on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention.
