After just a few minutes with Possum, you quickly discover he's secretly The King of Hearts! He's full of love and happiness...so grateful for a new life! Possum is only 8 years old but those 8 years were very hard years of neglect and have prematurely aged him to the condition of an elderly dog of 15 or more. He is blind in one eye, has no lower jaw due to dental disease, has no upper teeth, is recovering from sarcoptic mange and is mostly deaf. Even so he has a very big heart! I'd like to say it's big just because it's full of love. But Possum has a serious heart murmur because the left side of his heart is enlarged. He needs medicine for the rest of his life to help combat the problems of having an enlarged heart. So we need your help to help Possum stay healthy enough to enjoy his new life hopefully for years to come. He loves to explore and get his ears scratched. And he loves to roll in a comfy bed and play alligator! Because he was in such fragile condition when he first arrived, it was decided to limit him to his rabies shot and not neuter him. He most likely would not survive the anesthesia. Possum isn't housetrained and wears a belly band. He does like to go outside but he doesn't yet understand it's not a good idea to hike inside...we're working on it. And the ladies love him! His foster sisters are always competing for his attention! He's a very good eater and loves his Life's Abundance! He's gained more than half a pound since coming to his new home in Chattanooga, TN! Possum's motto now is 'Life is Good!'
