1-17-07 Bella was rescued from a vet clinic in northern Louisiana. She had been found by a vet tech and boarded at the clinic. Catahoula Rescue was notified and we took Bella into our program. Bella is about 1 year old. Unfortunately, after coming into rescue, it was discovered that Bella is deaf.

Bella is a beautiful, friendly, very active dog. She does well with other dogs and likes everyone. It's not known how she is with cats. Bella will need a home with experience with a deaf dog or with someone willing to learn how to train a deaf dog. She is smart and anxious to learn, but she is also quite energetic. This energy will need to be channelled appropriately.

Bella is spayed, heartworm neg. and up to date on vaccinations. She is in a foster home in Weimar, TX, west of Houston.

Catahoula Rescue Inc is an all volunteer 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The fosterhomes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered if old enough. They have been wormed and tested for heartworms if over 4 months of age when rescued. All dogs are on heartworm preventative. We require a minimum $150 adoption fee to help offset these costs.

If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first step is to complete the online adoption application available at our main website www.catahoularescue.com From the homepage, follow the link 'How to Adopt'. Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the fosterparent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family. If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue.
