Shep Flatonia, TX

Adoption info | Photos

Please contact Mary (info@catahoularescue.com) for more information about this pet.

11-12-07 Shep is probably less than 18 months old. To be honest, we don't really know what mix of breeds went into making Shep the unique dog he is. He has the large size and coat texture and color of a German Shepherd. However, he has the drop ears and one blue eye, so there may be some Catahoula in the mix. Whatever he is, Shep is a clown. He's energetic and playful. He's good with other dogs and loves people.

Shep was rescued from a high kill shelter south of Houston, TX. He is currently in a foster home near Luling, TX. When Shep was picked up as a stray, he was wearing a harness. The shelter thought for sure that someone would come to claim him, but noone did. Catahoula Rescue took him in. Shep was heartworm positive and has been treated. He has also been neutered, vaccinated, and wormed. Shep needs a home with someone with experience with big, strong dogs. He's very friendly, but needs training. An obedience class in strongly recommended. Shep will be a wonderful companion to someone that appreciates a dog with personality.
