Ben is a 2 - 3 year old St. Bernard/Spaniel mix with a very sweet disposition. He gets along extremely well with other dogs, but prefers to eat and have treats by himself. He is not quite sure about cats. Right now, he wants to lunge at my cat when he sees her, but we are trying to work on that. Ben is pretty good about listening to you when you say, 'Ben, No!.' He loves to cuddle and loves to be scratched on his tummy - so much so that when you start combing him, he will roll over on his back so you don't miss anything. He also takes medicine very easily, loves to play with toys, and loves rawhides.

Ben does understand the Sit command most of the time. Right now, Ben seems to want to be the first one out of the house and the first one in, so we are working on the Wait command at the door when he goes out and when he comes in. His collar and leash do need to be on him before you open the door, because I think Ben could be a runner. He would love to chase all the wild animals outside. A fenced yard or tie-out would be best for Ben along with daily walks. Ben did have just a few accidents in the house when he first got here, but once his system adjusted, he has been very good about going outside.

Ben was alone a lot in his past. He needs a loving forever family who will have a great deal of time to spend with him - exercising him and cuddling with him.

All our dogs are properly vetted. Dogs - 6 months- Adult are microchipped, Frontlined, Heartwormed check, Heartguard, rabies shot and DHLPP. Puppies are given their round of DHLPP shots and Frontlined at 8 weeks.
