FROM THE SHELTER:

This is a different story. I am only 8 months old and my humans put a collar on me at 3 months and NEVER took it off me. I am in the nice Dr DVM's office getting ready to have my collar surgically removed from my neck where it had imbedded-deeply (plus getting neutered!). A nice man rescued me and brought me to the vet where I underwent two (2) hours of surgery. My foster Dad stayed with me during the operation and was there when I woke up. Today he came and brought me home (to his house NOT where I had been) and I am enjoying the sun and other critters.My foster Mom said to name me Blaze after St Blaze, the Patron Saint of the throat. My neck is finally healing up nicely and I am looking for my new forever home!
