Each of our rescued dogs are in private foster homes.  We do not have a physical shelter for the public to come look at them. 

The first step in adopting is to make sure that you read the bio of the dog that you are interested in.  If there is a question that you have about a particular dog that is not listed in their bio please email wsadoptions@yahoo.com  with them. Our policies are listed on our main web site under 'Adoption Info' - please be sure to read that before you fill out the application.  

  The next would be to fill out our online adoption application and answer a few questions to help us get to know you.  This also helps us help you find the perfect match for your family and lifestyle. 

Any questions concerning your application after it has been submitted should be sent to milldogrescue@yahoo.com and will be answered by the application processors.

Our volunteers will check the references on your application.  If you have an email address for a reference please put that down.  Please do not leave any questions unanswered.  Make sure that you have your vet's phone number including area code when you apply.  This helps speed up the process. If your application is incomplete we will not even consider it.  We are all volunteers and  just do not have the time to be seaching for information.  

After you have filled out the application please make sure to contact your vet and let them know one of our volunteers will be in touch with them.  

We communicate mostly via emails so please check yours often.

 We will NOT ship our rescues so please do not even ask. It is up to the adopter to make arrangements to pick up their new pet.

I'm still here waiting for my family to find me. I'm shy at first but once I get to know you look out. I want to be with my people as much as possible. I love to play with anyone and anything and when I get tired I need to lay as close to you as possible.

Dec 17th

Lucas has been in foster care since February 24th. He is such a sweetie pie. He's very active and wants nothing more than to play and cudle up with that special someone out there. Lucas thought he found a home but was returned after just 3 days. He is a little shy at first with new people. Which is natural since he has been with his foster family for so many months. He would do best with another dog or two to romp and play with. And kids - oh my - he just loves playing with his foster kid.
He's pretty much housetrained but does forget his manners sometimes if his foster family doesn't keep up with his schedule.
Lucas needs a fenced yard so that he can run off some of his energy. He does not do too well on a leash.
He is ready and waiting for that special family out there to love him.
