Everyday (sometimes more than once a day) my 1 year old maltese begins with a barking nervousness then accelerates to a loud crying barking hysterical running around. All of a sudden he just stops and lowers his head and look around in disbelief as if he didn't know what he was doing. Recently these episodes have been followed by a jerking of his head and convulsions. Nothing has come back in his blood work, but I am convinced that he has some form of epilepsy. Without doing a CAT scan, is there a recommended medication to request from his vet to reduce the risk of these attacks from occurring so frequently?

Looking for some advice. I have a 3 1/2 year old male black lab who in the last year started having strange events. On occation he will emit a low growl when an of us try to pet him. he usually goes to a quiet place and wants to be left alone, then returns to his normal lovable self a short time later. Last night and this morning he actually showed his teath while growling.....I tried to sooth him by talking to him softly but this led to louder, more aggressive growling. This type of event happens on occation with no regularity and I have not been able to determine what sets it off. Read the article on epilepsy seems possible.....any advice??? He has not been fixed yet but will be in the next week, maybe that will help. Any info would be greatly apppreciated!
