DogTime Media Partners with Pet Airways to Increase Dog Adoptions

Adoption Searches Can Be Extended by Working with Pet Airways

to Fly Adopted Dogs to their New Owners

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, May 5, 2009–DogTime Media <http://dogtimemedia.com>, the largest community of pet-oriented websites, today announced that it is partnering with Pet Airways <http://www.petairways.com> to extend the reach of their DogFinder adoption program.

Over 30,000 potential dog adopters use DogTime’s DogFinder search tool each month to find a dog. The average search radius is 50 miles from their location. Now adopters are able to extend their search by using Pet Airways’ coast-to-coast service and have Pet Airways deliver their new dog to them, thereby increasing the number of dogs adopted.

“There is a misconception that the choice of dogs available for adoption is limited to perhaps older dogs or mixed breeds,” said Trevor Wright, CEO of DogTime Media. “This is simply not the case and by partnering with Pet Airways we are able to extend the search area to nearly the entire country, making it possible for an adopter to find the dog of their dreams and have it flown to them in comfort and safely.”

With flights scheduled to start on July 14, 2009, Pet Airways is the first pet-only airline to be designed with the comfort and safety of pets in mind. While being transported, animals fly in the main cabin, not the cargo hold. Initially serving five cities–New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, Denver, and Los Angeles, Pet Airways plans to expand to additional metropolitan areas to serve the needs of “pawsengers” nationwide.

“By partnering with DogTime we are able to help save more dogs in more cities across the country,” said Dan Wiesel, President/CEO of Pet Airways. “Currently, most pets traveling by air are transported in the cargo hold and are handled as baggage. The experience is frightening to the pets, and can cause severe emotional and physical harm, even death. This is not what most pet owners want to subject their pets to, but they have had no other choice, until now.”
