Alternative medicine for cancer?

Question:

Can alternative medicine really treat serious medical issues, like cancer?

Answer:

Absolutely! In my practice, pets with cancer are usually treated with both conventional therapies such as surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy, plus many alternative therapies including dietary therapy, herbal therapy, homeopathy, and nutritional supplementation.

While I use an integrative approach in treating most of my cancer patients, there are those cases for which there are no conventional therapies. For example, there are no good conventional therapies for most pets with lung cancer or liver cancer. In these instances, only alternative medicine offers any hope for these pets.

Many of my cancer patients treated with only alternative therapies have responded dramatically, beating the odds and living much longer than expected. In my book, The Natural Vet’s Guide to Preventing and Treating Cancer in Dogs, I outline many of the therapies I use to help prevent cancer in some of my patients as well as heal many of those patients who do have cancer.

Because of the power that alternative therapies have in helping pets with cancer heal themselves, I believe it alternative therapies should be a part of every cancer patient’s medical treatment.
