Clothing your dog in a sweater or jacket isn't as frivolous as it sounds. In cold weather, the extra layer can bring huge comfort to certain types of dogs. The dogs most likely to benefit include the small ones, particularly those weighing less than 10 pounds, and the larger ones with very short fur or low body fat, such as Pit Bull Terriers, Greyhounds, and Whippets.
