My Miniature Schnauzer is a bit overweight. He’s two years old and wights about 30lbs. How much and how ofter should I feed him. Right now I feed him about 1cup of dry dog food twice a day. |

Two cups of food is a lot for a 30 lb dog. Probably 1 1/2 is a better fit for him. It depends a lot on the type and caloric density of the food as well. Try cutting the food back some and maybe adding some extra high fibre/low cal goodies like string beans to his diet. |

so i have a mini schnauzer too and i feed him 1/2 a cup of iams because he is a 3 month old puppy and she ways around 7-8 pounds. A good idea of exercise is taking her for a run for like 30 minutes but you should do that at least EVERYDAY so best of luck !!! |

I’d cut him back to around 1 cup a day and fill the rest of the space with green beans. It will still help him feel full but will be less calories. And yes I have to agree with the excercise bit. |

Hi, just wanted to let you know about green beans and dogs: Green beans are loaded with nutrients – an excellent source of Vitamin A, dietary fiber, potassium, folate and iron, etc. |
