I use a wire brush for grooming Bailey. It sort of looks like the same type of brush they groom horses with … you slip your hand through the strap on the back of the brush and it covers the entire palm and fingers of your hand, the wires are about 1/3 of an inch in length. It works very well and getting out the under coat and clears out any mats that may be starting to form. Bailey seems to like it too, she loves to be brushed so I don’t think the wires are scratching her or causing her any discomfort. She turns into a big rag dog when being brushed, just lays there and relaxes. We can find these types of brushes at any dog supply store so you shouldn’t have any problem finding one like what I’ve described. |

Brushing really is pretty basic. You just need to understand the type of coat your dog has and that determines how often you need to brush and what type of brush to use. |
