I have a 6 month old Yorkie that loves to eat the wall in my hallway. Please help!!! Any suggestions on how to prevent this would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance! |

Hi there, This sounds like a typical chewing problem and a 6 month old dog is really still in the heart of a chewing phase. Please take a look at the section about chewing on this site, it will help. Also, at 6 months of age, and before being fully chew toy trained your dog should not be left unsupervised in a situation where s/he can chew the wall. I’d recommend the use of some sort of dog-proof confinement such as a crate or a playpen for when your dog can’t be fully supervised, Best wishes! |

I’ve been using a lime spray to prevent my three month old puppy from biting things she shouldn’t. It has a bitter taste so when she attempts to chew things that have been sprayed she doesn’t like the taste. I got it from the local pet store and so far it has worked well. That may work well for your problem. |
