My sister’s dog is so mean! I’m afraid to be in the same room with him sometimes! How can I make sure that doesn’t happen to my new puppy?

Exposure exposure exposure….play pass the puppy with your friends and family, have as many people as possible handle your pup in a friendly and gentle manner. Play with his ears, feet and tail to get him accustomed to touching. (This is especially helpful at the vet and groomers).
Take him out as much as possible (until he has had his shots do not go to dogparks or places where there may be dog feces or other unkown dogs). Expose him to elevators, cars, noise and buses and introduce him to as many things as possible as young as possible. Always carry very yummy treats to help him get used to strangers, they can give him treats before petting him.
Some things will startle him at first, try not to overload him but don’t coddle him either. He needs to learn the world is not a super scary place. Try to make every new interaction as fun and pleasant as possible.

ETA…find a good puppy class so he can learn his “doggy” manners!
