I tried giving my dog ,Lady, some rawhide. She had a horrible cough after eating it. A few months later, I bought her a brand called Merrick’s rawhide. She did not cough after eating it. I later found out that some rawhide brands have plastic it them. The rawhides with plastic in them do not list the ingredients.

How about giving her reusable, stuffable, natural rubber chewtoy products such as Kongs, or Busy Buddy toys from Premier?

Natural rubber will last longer, can be reused, and is much safer if it is ingested.

The best way to stuff a chewtoy is to soak your dog’s food until it becomes spongy and then mush it into a paste and put it in the toy.

I tried giving her rubber toys. She would not touch them. I did not get her from a puppy. When I adopted her she had already chosen what toys she liked and did not like.
