I’m sorry for your loss, I know how much it hurts to lose a good friend. I have always kept the ashes of my pets. But that is my choice, You have to do what feels right for you and your family. As for getting another cat, was your cat old when he developed these symptoms? If he was a younger cat, there are several vey bad feline diseases that cause the symptoms you describe and can remain contagious even after your cat is gone. I would check with your vet before I got another cat to make sure your cat didn’t die from one of these diseases. Again, I’m really sorry that you lost your kitty.

It is so sad to lose the one you loved regardless if it’s human or a pet. It’s the same feeling anyway. I think you should keep her ashes. That’s the only thing that reminds you of her. I know you had lots of happy moments together becoz pets awlays make us happy and being relieved from tension right? Anyway, if you’re thinking of having a new cat or dog, you can check out the link below which might help you.
