Pennie Ocala 2 posts	I just named my australian cattle / terrier Mango and when I call her she doesn’t respond. How long will it take before she responds to her name.
mitch.delazo 19 posts	Hi! Making your dog familiar with her name is equivalent to spending time with her, bonding with her. I dont think there is really a definite time as to when your dog will get used to her name. it’s all about training…Maybe you should try affixing her name to anything that you tell her -“come here Mango”, “Mango, sit”, instead of saying “come here baby” or “Sweety, sit down”. There are plenty of commands that you can teach her hence making her familiar with her name, as well. check out this link: http://dogtime.com/basic-commands-obedience.html

Both cattle dogs and terriers tend to be very clever with a little help from you she’ll learn in no time (a few weeks with practice).
Luna 113 posts	I love her name!!! I’m just curious, do you call her Mango (like it would sound in Spanish, with an ah! sound), or Mengo (like most English speakers do)? Just curious, it has nothing to do with training :)
