We have a 6 yr old wheaton who has had some new behvior issues He is going to the bathroom on the furniture in the house which he has nver done. He is also starting to growl at the kids and is normally easy going and lovable. He is also getting agressive with the cat and they have been together since they where both babies. Any ideas of what could be going on

If your dog is housetrained and you suddenly notice little puddles around your home, consult your veterinarian to make sure this is a behavioral issue and not a medical problem. Here are some causes on another page on this site http://dogtime.com/marking-housesoiling.html

I totally agree, changes in behaviour, especially sudden aggression and house soiling issues almost always are related to a change in the health of the dog.
See your vet for an exam and bloodwork (especially thyroid and test for lyme disease, as there is some evidence that problems here can lead to behaviour issues) and if everything is clear, speak to a certified behaviourist as causes for these changes can be hard to pick out without a full assessment and interview.

Make an appointment with the Vet! Being unable to control or hold the bladder is a sign of problems with thyroid, Cushing’s disease or perhaps diabetes. I experienced the same with my dachshund. Heavy water consumption is also a sign. Call your vet! My guy is doing great, he has Cushing’s AND diabetes, however they are both under control and he is “accident” free.
