I have two dogs ages 11 and 12 they are both still tring to be puppy but in the end they hurt them selfs hikeing and camping has been a big part of their lifes with me and I would hate to have to leave them home. We go every where togather for the most part. at this point I have to life 150lbs. of dog in to the truck and 45lbs too I try to keep them quieted down but they love the out of doors as much as I do |

As an owner of an older dog you can still involve then in everything that they have always done, but just do your best to not let them overexert themselves. I had a 14 year old Miniature Schnauzer who up until shortly before he passed didn’t realize how old he truly was. On the last camping trip that we took him on we just made sure to not overwalk him or let him over do anything, and he was perfectly happy with that. |
