Our lab/border collie mix was the same. It wasn’t until she was about a yr old that she finally went in, quite by accident. We took her to the park and tried to encourage her, but never forced. My husband was sooo disappointed, unitl one day when she was playing fetch the stick w/ a little boy. Without thinking she jumped right in. My husband came home so excited! Now we can’t keep her out of the water. Have patience and try new games to slowily introduce water. We also had a baby pool on our deck so she could cool off and she didn’t go in until my husband threw her ball in there. If she likes to fetch a favorite toy, I would try that, or if you have a friend with a dog who likes to swim, that might help. Good Luck and don’t give up! |

When Dagwood was a baby we bought him a kiddie pool. This got him accustomed to liking the water. Perhaps he may enjoy one of these games for Smart Cookies |
