I am planning on getting an older dog (my first one, whoa!), but I definitely don’t want to start introducing my new dog “Cinnamon” when I could be introducing my new dog “Delta Force.” Is it going to be hard for the dog to adjust to a new (but superior) name? Or will it be ok, but take some time. |

OMG, i know what you mean. when i first got my dog, they had been calling her Booberry Pudding. i immediately changed it to Miss Thang. so much better, right? just give your dog a treat every time you say his name and he’ll learn it really quickly. for example, “here, delta fox!” and give him a treat. |

My 3 year old rescue dog was named “Sage” when I got her, but she got the idea that her name was “Sophie” within a couple of weeks. But yes absolutely, associate the new “word” which is her/his name with treats, and that makes it go that much faster! |
