Reputable breeders will sell to pet stores who are strict about where they get their puppies from and are firm about health, temerment and quality. Responsible pet stores will deny those who are not licenced, who have unhealthy living conditions and unclear/ inhumaine breeding philosopies. Breeding is not a hobby, it is a profession and needs ongoing education. |

“Reputable breeders will sell to pet stores who are strict about where they get their puppies from and are firm about health, temerment and quality. Responsible pet stores will deny those who are not licenced, who have unhealthy living conditions and unclear/ inhumaine breeding philosopies. Breeding is not a hobby, it is a profession and needs ongoing education.” I can’t believe I’m reading this….there is no such thing as a “responsible” pet store. No reputable, ethical & moral breeder would sell their puppies to a pet store…there is no need to, they generally have a waiting list for their puppies and, even if they don’t, they will only sell to thoroughly screened homes either on a limited/speuter contract, or will have the dog altered prior to placing the pup (and with AKCs new proposed changes, you’ll see more & more pups being altered prior to placement to ensure their “pet” quality dogs are not being used for breeding). Breeding absolutely should NOT be a profession, that implies the only reason to breed is to make $$$. So, in essence what you’re saying by “responsible pet stores” denying any unlicensed breeders, is that they only deal with millers, bunchers & BYBers as they are the only ones who produce dogs enmass which requires a USDA license in the first place. |

All breeders who commit their lives to perfecting a breed amd makining it better is a professional. any breeder who shows his or her dogs is a professional. their life is committed to making each new litter better than the last. professional breeders do not over produce. over production of puppies is a puppy mill. reputable breeders do not make money for themselves, they do not drive new cars or build new houses the money goes to the dogs. buying premium dog food for puppies, sire and dam and getting to a dog show to recieve even more champion titles. |
